This 2006 study/report explores the extent to which digital media skills are used by non-digital media professionals. The objective was to establish a model of use of digital media skills among the working population who are not digital professionals within the broader business environment. This study is the result of collaboration between MEI and Macromedia (now part of Adobe Systems).

The digital media skills surveyed for this report are grouped into two categories: those utilizing various media components (presentations, newsletters, websites), and the skills utilized to develop edit or modify media components: (audio, animations, graphics, photos, videos).
